For years, I have been told, "You need to write!"...apparently, my lacking gifts elsewhere lead to I have a gift to write. So while I am technically able (for the love of God, I have a Droid (R) and show others how to to use the damn thing), this is all way to complex for me. So to you have to deal with it as I figure out the correct format.
So one of my Mom friends in the corporate world was was like, "You need to blog!" She is from J&J and her personal life could be a Lifetime movie (who, if you are still single or pregnant and have excuses to sit your asses on a couch and rest hours at a time, you know what they are all about - awesome depending on how much time you have to piss away). I asked, "Why?", half laughing, half intrigued. She said, "Because I have never know a Mom who was such a Mom in such denial of being Mom."....
Instead of being insulted, I laughed and asked "What does that mean?"
She said, "You are all about your kids, but man, you still live a fun life ...I mean, check Facebook, you and your friends still have an unbelievably good time even though you are married with 3 young kids..."
And with that, I guess I took for granted how much my family, my kids still are such a priority in my life, but yet, my kids, the day-the-day, the ins-and-outs, the stuff you wish you could pawn off to others when they are not so adorable are yours to deal with, are what my life is all about, but damn, I still have FUN. And then add in a husband and his needs...well, this is sometimes more than I thought it would be...but wouldn't I trade it, not in my lifetime...
And not that I would be portentous to be someone to dictate how motherhood or womenhood should be, because as most journeys in life, you hope you follow the guidebook of those who went ahead or travel with you, but ultimately you know what's best for your journey. But hey, if I can relate to something in you or some exchange we have makes us better mothers, better parents, better wives, daughter, sisters, and friends, well, I am willing to share my life and make this journey with you.
Tune in... I never pack light...so this should be a hell of a trip....
